An interesting exhibit at MOMA about The Un-Private House. I don't actually believe its premise that "[t]he private house has also been from its establishment a building type that enshrines family life to the exclusion of all other activities." I think that houses have public and private spaces, and always have.

A good interview with the curator of the MOMA exhibit.

Millennium Force's statistics are staggering: with a monumental 310-foot-tall first hill at a 45-degree incline, speeds of 92 mph over 6,595 feet of track and a first drop of 300 feet at an extraordinary 80-degree angle, this mega-thriller will awe riders with its dynamic world-record-breaking dimensions
AHHHHH! The Magnum XL 200 is 205 feet tall. This beast is over 100 feet taller. I'm getting all verklempt just sitting here thinking about going up the chain lift.

From the Wall Street Journal:

From Saturday morning, when news of the plane's disappearance first broke, on through the weekend and every day since, the maudlin drivel has been everywhere, an orgy of vacuousness and preposterous claims.

From Greg Aharonian's patent news newsletter, quoting a usenet article, quoting Petronius Arbiter ca. 210 BCE:

We trained hard - but it seemed that every time we were beginning to form up into teams we were reorganized. I was to learn later in life that we tend to meet any new situation by reorganizing, and what a wonderful method it can be for creating the illusion of progress while actually producing confusion, inefficiency, and demoralization.

Webcrawler's most recent hundred or so search terms. Reading them is interesting, you can follow threads of inquiry sometimes by watching related but different searches. Some of the searches are downright hysterical. ("Exactly how does the Pentium III improve the internet?" was one.)

Here's a sampling of genuine, sincere sounding, searches which are useless, with a link to the results you would get if you entered them. I find it interesting how many full sentences there are. Search engines work best when you think like a search engine and give it rather unique set of terms which will be found most readily in the pages you are looking for (and not in other pages). I'd guess at least 85% of the queries I saw returned meaningless mush.
